4Great phone after a few tweaks...
By A. Eberts
I really wasn't impressed with the windows7 phone so I looked around for something with 6.5. come to find out... both hd2 and w7 have the same hardware specs except for w7 has a physical camera button. Even though the hd2 is widely known as one of the best and most customizable windows phones... it doesn't come without a few problems. First of all, you have to make sure your ROM is up to date (which t-mobile has on their site). When it first came out in the U.S. it was buggy. Even after having an updated ROM... I had to download 3rd party software to fix the call quality, the 3g came on all by itself after switching it off so I had to find software to stop that, I downloaded a more accurate battery life indicator, and I also found software to switch the on screen unlock slider to the bottom of the screen instead of the top. I didn't know it had all these little annoyances until after I bought it. But like I said... it's a highly customizable phone. All the software fixes from the net were free too. So, even though it was a pain at first...with a few little tweaks, it's actually a great phone. I did have to buy an HTC HD2 brand extended battery from ebay (with the metal kick stand in the back) because the original battery didn't last long (maybe 2 days with moderate use). I am not a really heavy user on my phone so I can get about 4 or 5 days on one charge with moderate to mid range use on the extended battery. Do not get a cheap no name extended battery, they do not tell you the accurate battery life. At some point, you have to take it out and put it back in to reboot your phone so you can get the other 50% battery life to work. The 3g is shut off unless I need to use it, and I make sure the task manager is clear of all programs running in the back ground. After all that, was it worth my time and money? Yes. I do really like this phone. One of the best I've owned. It was actually fun customizing it since I'm such a tech geek. I would say that if you don't mind having to customize it, it'll be a great phone for you too.

5Awesome Hardware
By Dan L.
Great device all around. Thin and solid. Windows Mobile 6.5 runs and looks great on the HD2. I, however, am a huge Google Android fan so I installed Android 2.3.4 on it. It is easy to do. The HD2 is an awesome device for the one who enjoys "tinkering" with their phones. The HD2 will run WinMo, Android, WP7, Meego, Windows 95, Ubuntu, and who knows what else. Great phone.I Love the huge screen, and pretty much everything else about it. I'm happy and lucky to have it.

4htc hd2
By gargemel_622
The hd2 is great phone, the hardware is not much different than the newest HTC's. The only drawback is the limitations of win mob 6.5. The o/s is rigid, not very customizable, you really can't move icons around freely and it's not nearly as fluid or fun as android. This phone initially struck me as a business device, the Marketplace is also business oriented. If one is so inclined there are.many flawless android programs available at xdadevelopers.com. battery life can also be greatly improved by flashing new radio rom. The phone is capable of being cutting edge, just not out of the box. Great phone, highly recommended.

5My first Smart Phone - inexpensive and easy to use
By Timothy G. Holtz
This is my first smart phone. It’s replacing my eight year old Motorola V195s, (which weighs a bit more than this phone, and is somewhat more clunky) as my primary phone, with the Motorola becoming my “backup phone”. The Motorola still works fine, but the battery charge now only holds a couple days. I don’t subscribe to wireless internet from my provider (PureTalk USA), so I’m relying on wi-fi for internet connectivity. I mostly wanted a smart phone for the convenience of having an FM Radio, MP3 player and phone in a single compact package. However I’m sure I’ll find plenty of use apps, and having a basic camera in the package doesn’t hurt either. I needed a phone with a Bluetooth connection, and I also wanted a four band “world phone”.

If you’re interested in this product, you may as well download the manual NOW (Google “S5360 manual site:samsung.com”) as the manual doesn’t come with the phone. And, if you plan to use the camera or MP3 player, you’ll need a micro SD card, so maybe order that when you order the phone.

The box arrived with Spanish writing on it, so I wasn’t terribly surprised to find that when I booted the phone, the prompts weren’t in English. Now, while there are both English and Spanish “quick start” guides provided with the product, the guide doesn’t explain the initial screen that comes up when the product is first powered on. So, I had to go online on my computer to and translate to verify that the button labeled “cambia el idioma” was the correct button to select to change to English - because if I selected the wrong button, god knows what would happen.

I’m pretty sure that the phone is unlocked. I had no problem connecting to the AT&T network that my provider uses.

I had no trouble connecting to my home wi-fi, and I had no trouble connecting the Bluetooth to either my Garmin navigator or my Cell2Tel Bluetooth Gateway. I also had no trouble accessing my Verizon email account. The FM radio provides flawless reception – it’s better than the one in my MP3 player, which I considered excellent. The touch screen is easy to use. There doesn’t seem to be any built-in missed call or waiting voicemail reminder – it seems you need to install an app for that. I installed a free app called Missed Call Reminder. You can set it to give a periodic audio reminder.

4Perhaps the Best Android Phone Ever
By SCJaredJ
Let's be honest here, if you're in the US looking at the Samsung GT-i9250 Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM Unlocked phone, you're not the average cell phone buyer. You're looking for the latest (at the time of release) Pure Google Experience phone, and you're not waiting around for AT&T or T-Mobile to bring this little beauty stateside. You're a premium cell phone connoisseur who wants perhaps the best Android phone ever, and wants it now!

First off, this is the GSM Unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. You Verizon and Sprint users are going to want to move along, as purchasing this phone will only lead you to utter frustration. This phone's unlocked pentaband radio means that you'll have little trouble setting this up on US T-Mobile or AT&T 2g or 3g. Let's also not forget that the phone supports 21 Mbps HSPA+ speeds, meaning you won't have 4G LTE speeds, but you'll get great speeds on T-Mobile or AT&T's networks (note that actual coverage and speeds will vary based on location).

So now that you've figured out that you need this phone and that it will work on your network, how is the phone?

Two words: "Simply Amazing."

I've used many Android phones, and I can honestly say that this phone is perhaps the BEST ANDROID PHONE EVER RELEASED. As a Pure Google Experience phone, you'll receive Android updates essentially straight from Google. This means you aren't saddled by any unwanted bloatware that cell phone companies or carriers add to their phones, or unwanted UI skins such as Blur or Sense. Also, it means you won't have to wait for updates.

This is the first phone to feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). I won't bore you with the intricacies of ICS, but I'll let you know that the phone operates extremely smooth. Powered by ICS and a 1.2GHZ dual core processor, the phone glides through home screens, menus and applications without a hint of lag.

This phone forgoes most physical buttons for on-screen buttons, save for a volume rocker and power/unlock button. This may seem weird at first, but the spacious 4.65" HD (yes, HD!!) screen allows for easy navigation.

Speaking of the screen, it looks amazing. I've had no issue viewing outside in direct sunlight like I've had with other phones. I will warn that if you have smaller fingers, the 4.65" screen might be difficult to manage if you're trying to hold and use the phone one-handed. But, the added screen space also makes it extremely easy to type in portrait mode, as the screen size provides a portrait keyboard almost the same size as a blackberry.

This phone comes with 16GB of internal memory, which is a lot of space, but honestly it would have been nice if they included a micro sd expansion slot for more space.

The 5MP camera is pretty good. It's not a world beater that will replace your point and shoot, but it will get the job done. What it lacks in picture quality is made up for in software enhancements including almost zero lag shutter capture and the addition of a stock panoramic mode. Videos can be recorded up to 1080p@30fps using the rear camera, and 720p@30fps using the 1.3MP front-facing camera. There is also a LED flash on the back. The phone also contains video and picture editing apps from Google so you can quickly and easily edit your pictures/videos.

The standard battery for this phone is 1850mAh, which will easily last me through a work day without any tweaks. You might not get as much mileage out of this as I do, but at least the battery is replaceable and larger batteries are available.

My main disappointment with the phone deals with a lack of a dedicated HDMI out port. Sure, you can use HDMI out, but it requires a separate adapter, and I'm more in favor of phones having a full HDMI or micro HDMI out port instead of using adapters. Also, note that since this is a Google Experience phone, there is no native DLNA apps installed, but you can find many adequate apps in the market (many for free as well!)

Like I said earlier, since you're looking at this phone, you probably already know that you want it, but you're probably trying to figure out if it's worth the hype. All I can say is that it is TOTALLY WORTH THE HYPE. I've used this phone for over a week now and absolutely love it. The only regret I have is that I wish I would have purchased it earlier.

5Near to Perfect Smart Phone, overall better than any nearest Rival
By Manish Garg
I have just completed one month of owning of Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I have no doubt declaring I am very happy with this. This is the best smart phone on the market for the time being until iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3 releases. I had iPhone 4 for 2 months and I like many other people who could not be satisfied with beauty and fruit brand alone threw that 'dumb beauty' . For me that was more of a 'show off' rather than of practical use.

Apple itself in a recent patent suit directed against google termed this as the "most creditable competitor to iPhone'. Apple co founder which is not a apple employee anymore and hence free to speak truth freely declared iPhone easy to use but 'Android more feature rich'. He dismissed Siri totally saying he could not understand how come internet could be needed to make a call through Siri. Do I need to say more now? If yes then here is the detail review:

Like ->
(1) Bigger HD contour display-> Though you can distinguish between pixels while looking closely unlike iPhone's Retina display, Nexus's display is gorgeous. Colors are very vibrant and rich. Black is real black (because of Super AMOLED display technology) which creates the whole difference.
The Screen is large and with medium hands I can reach to the whole screen stretching the thumb or fingers. Sometimes I tend to use the other hand (luckily I have two hands and both are fully functional so can't complaint).

Because of bigger screen this phone is more useful or convenient for what Apple invented iPhone for ie Browsing web, playing games, watching videos. And because of this I tend to depend lesser on PC/laptop/tablet. With bigger screen, power and customization of Android OS this phone is closer to our old friend PC/laptop.

**I run the same HD video both on nexus and iPhone 4S and nexus one was better to watch.**

(2) Soul-> The soul of this device is ICS OS which is now equal to iOS in terms of user friendlessness but is better because it is much more customizable and hence you feel completely in control and power. This is different feeling than using dumb iOS. After using ICS I really struggled to use the iOS or same iOS based apps. ICS is lightning fast and smooth.
Face unlock, NFC, android beam and google wallet (not available on Verizon version) are very cool. Face unlock works perfectly.
Built-in Data usage monitor is very helpful for not letting you go above your data limit.
-> Mine is international unlocked version which within a week got automatically updated to 4.0.2 from 4.0.1.
This has Best notification, better customization for web browsing.

Ohhhhhhhh... did I tell you android has taken two steps which is miles ahead of time and going to change the things completely? (i) No Physical button-> The buttons are in fact part of OS itself and function well. Hence the buttons can now be context specific and smarter. They change their position depending on how you are holding the phone or what you are doing. While watching video they disappear completely giving you the whole screen for watching, and yes they will reappear on appropriate place when you need them. (ii) Same OS for all devices: Unlike Apple now same application can run on any device running on ICS. For apple the applications need to be written separately both for iPhone and iPad. That's why Apple has lesser applications on iPads. With new approach of ICS now people will just write once and run it anywhere hence number of apps is going to get multiplied faster on ICS.

(3) Eco System (Apps)-> Android eco system (or app market) is there on par with Apple eco system. In the same period I have installed more applications than I did on iPhone 4 (because most applications are free compared to Apple). I am more functional on Android than I was on iPhone 4. There is nothing which I want and its not there. And yes now google going to start monitoring of applications so less argument against Android apps.
(4) Form factor-> I like its form factor more than of iPhone's. Countered makes it more convenient to use and keep in the pocket. Now to me iPhone is just any another device and I look on iPhone with pity.
(5) Battery-> I need to charge it once a day with low to moderate usage which is what other iPhone 4S customers are also doing. And if you are going to use it like laptop you will need to charge it more (is not this same with your laptop?). Better part is unlike iPhone you can carry batteries and change it easily. No complaint here.
(6) Reception-> Decent.
(7) Call quality-> Nice.
(8) Volume/Speaker-> Low, could be helped with volume control plus application.
(9) More social-> Very well integrated with google.
(10). Build-> Except the battery cover everything else is of high quality. I don't care about plastic versus metal debate. iPhone even with metal and corning glass are equivalently fragile and people have been reporting iPhone being broken having dropped just from 12 feet or so. And with gorilla glass on both ends iPhone 4 is more fragile. Remember gorilla glass is just scratch resistant not damage resistant.
(11) Typing-> is a breeze and it seems to read you mind and hence make typing a different experience than on iPhone. And big screen helps every here again.

Unfortunately this phone decided to do have some deliberate suicidal traits perhaps to avoid wiping away other Samsung devices. So here are the things which could have been improved upon:
(1) Speaker-> Could have been better (Minor+ issue)
(2) Reception-> Though not much complaint, Could have been just a 'little' better (Very Minor issue).
(3) Camera-> Could have been better definitely.
(4) External Storage-> Either they should have allowed adding external storage or given the device with more alternated with respect to storage capacities. (Minor issue)
(5) Display-> Should not be able to distinguish pixels (Minor issue but this should be ultimate goal for the display)

Conclusion-> This is the best smart phone on the market for the time being if you can live with some minor issue with volume. And all issues reported so far with this device seem to be software issues and should get corrected with updates or third part applications.

4Get it on the play store, its cheaper
By Mr.Anony
too expensive here for something that doesn't offer official Google Support. Without flashing the phone, there's no way you'll be able to upgrade to Jelly Bean. The product is fantastic, but the price is not. Even with tax and shipping, its still cheaper on the playstore. I saved 20 bucks and have official google support (and warranty!)

4Closest I could come to what I was looking for
By Uchi
My preference would have been to stick with my old phone, but after 6 or so years of regular use, it died and had to be replaced, so I got this one a couple of weeks ago.

I wanted another small-form, clamshell phone with a long battery life, good sound quality, and an alarm feature.

This phone is slightly longer than the old phone, but thinner and narrower. The battery life is rated as about the same or better than the phone it is replacing, although I'm not sure yet whether the real-world battery life is as long as what was advertised. (I certainly don't have to recharge it every day, though.) It does include the alarm feature I needed. Sound quality is adequate, not great (I would rate the quality of the earpiece speaker at about 6 or 7 out of 10 stars -- very slightly garbled voices at times, not perfectly clean and crisp, and it's necessary to work to position the phone just right to get the best volume at your ear). Mobile phone signal reception seems as good as the phone it was replacing.

The main feature I miss is the absence of any window showing who is calling when the phone is ringing -- it's necessary to open the case to see who is calling. At least it is possible to adjust the settings so that the phone only answers a call when you press the accept button (the default setting is to answer as soon as the cover is raised).

This phone's case is not as durable as that of the phone it is replacing, which had an almost rubberized feel to the case. I accidentally dropped the new phone last night on the garage floor, and the outside of the case shows a few tiny scratch marks already. The few times I dropped my old phone, it never showed scratches.

It was also a pain in the rear to get the messaging and internet features activated with my carrier. Carriers provide lots of info on how to set up the latest smartphones, but virtually no info on how to set up those features on phones with older technology, like this one. The manufacturer's website provided no help whatsoever, since they apparently did not intend for this phone to be used by US carriers. (The manufacturer's website does provide detailed info on how to set up this or very similar model phones for use on carriers outside the US, though.) It took several hours of internet searching, messaging, and calls to my carrier, but eventually I was able to get it all sorted out.

I would have preferred a phone with US warranty, but Amazon was only selling the silver version of the phone with US warranty at the time of my purchase, while I wanted the black version (which came with no US warranty). So far, the phone I received seems to be working well, so I am not as concerned about needed warranty-type servicing.

However, apart from the issues with setting up the phone for use with US carriers that I previously mentioned, another issue is that the phone I received did not include a US-type charger in the box; it came with a charger that seems to be a British-style plug (as I believe is used in Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam). Someone, apparently the seller opened the box to add a bulky adaptor to accommodate the foreign charger to US electrical sockets. I would much have preferred that the seller had simply added a US-type adaptor to the outer packaging (or, better yet, had added a regular US charger cord, instead of a non-US cord plus a large, clunky adaptor), rather than opened the manufacturer's original case, since in this age of widespread identity theft, there is no telling what security issues are raised once the original manufacturer's case has been breached. Buyers would feel more comfortable with their purchase, given all of that, if the description of the item in the ad mentioned that the case would have been opened to add an adaptor.

Overall, I would purchase this phone again, but probably would opt for the US warranty phone, despite the color, next time.

Update (March 31, 2013): Phone has been working well. I dumped the original non-US charger/clunky adaptor and now just use a US charger that I had from a different piece of electronic equipment (obviously, using non-approved components like this isn't recommended, but there's no warranty anyway). Battery life is much longer than even with my old phone, so I am happy on that score. The only real, but minor, complaint now (aside from wishing there were a window showing who incoming calls are coming from) is that it would be nice to be able to raise the volume of the ear speaker higher. I find that with some callers I have to position the phone just right or it can be a bit hard to hear the caller clearly.

5so far so good...
By Zoraida Haibi
I bought this phone for my husband since his other phone is completely obsolete and about 5 years old. He started using it and already I am impressed with the phone. He says he has to get use to the phone and the options, but he already stated he can hear everyone MUCH better and I can definitely hear him better too. The volume for the music on his MicroSD card is fantastic and so glad it came with earpieces so he can now listen privately to all his music.

5Slick flip-phone
By Richard Wyckoff
I got these phones for me and my wife. All we want is to talk plus I use the Calendar for reminders. Also look forward to getting local SIM cards when we travel abroad. This phone is great: nice big clear display and really good battery life. I have a pre-pay plan so can't take advantage of the data possibilities. Highly recommend.

4Defy Plus
By Ghostman
So far this phone is great. For a 1 Ghz processor, it`s pretty quick and lots of storage. If you`re hearing impaired, then you shouldn`t have any problem hearing. It`s has good volume and is clear sounding. For me that was a plus.

5Motorola Defy Plus...BUY this phone.
By Derk Diggler
Ok, Im a savy guy. I know NEVER to buy electronics over the internet, they most likely are broken or used products. Guess what, this is the SECOND Defy plus I purchased from this seller. I love, love, love these phones. I have the MB 525 from two years ago, still working, not a scratch on it. I do keep a protective case and film on the screen 99% of the time. The things can be dropped, get wet, taken to the beach in the sand, you name it. What Ive done is bought one for my son and wife. The plus is quicker, all black body and I buy the 32 mb memory card for their phones. The size is perfect, it is probably the smallest of the smart phones, yet the screen is bigger than an iphone 4 (compare them side by side). It is most combarable to between an iphone 4 and 4s. The iphone 5 is almost better on every front except with this you can change the memory card for cheap and it is INDESTRUCTABLE. Not only that, but buy the Motorola car mount for under ten bucks from amazon. Fantastic deal. If my two year old defy ever gives out, Im buying a third from this seller. Excellent, no dissapointments. Great phone for adults, great price and protection for kids first smart phone/cell phone.

5Love this phone
By Cali
I bought 2 of these phones one for me & one for my husband & we really like them. The only thing is we haven't figured out how to make the fonts bigger kinda hard to read texts or even type a text, so I use a stylus pen those work great if you have big fingers. My daughter like our phones so I ended up purchasing another one for her. Oh also disappointed that there is no warranty on these phones so I hope nothing goes out on them.

5Meet the official iPhone killer!
By Sam
I needed a lighter phone than my Google Nexus and was very close to getting an iPhone 5 due to the size and weight, but thankfully a colleague told me about the S4 mini before switching over! This phone is absolutely awesome. I am one of those people who HATE big screen phones, so this is a Godsend for me. It's fast. Perfect size. Light. Built extremely well for a "mini" model. Many many features. It's the perfect iPhone killer and has a much lower radiation output too.

Its SAR rating (radiation level) is hardly 0.33 watts per kilogram of body mass (on a scale of 0 to 1.60!). Phones with such a low SAR rating are very rare, and much lower than the iPhone 5 which is a whopping 1.6 watts per kilogram!

The best part, it's UNLOCKED so you can use tethering all you want with no extra charges. Just be warned, LTE may not work on many carriers so check that ahead of time. Mine runs on AT&T HSPA+ and I'm happy with the speed.

Don't listen to the bad reviews here. People complaining about the Micro SIM are just delusional, any major carrier will provide a new SIM for free. Just make sure you get a SAMSUNG SEALED PHONE or send it back! The first one I received was not sealed and wasn't even LTE. Amazon exchanged it for the right one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

5A liitle expensive but an Excellent Phone!!
By Sophia Bahlinger
Okay. I was definitely worried about buying this phone at first because it was an international, factory unlocked phone. But, I really wanted the phone so I decided to go with it. When I got the phone, it looked awesome! The only sucky part was that the instruction manuals were all in French... But, Í can just watch reviews on YouTube about it. No problem. However, when I went to put my SIM card in, it would not fit. It was WAY too big for it because the phone takes a microSIM card. So crap. But I was so determined to use the phone I was not going to let that get me down. I contacted my local provider- I read reviews from other people on here that said to do so- but they weren't much help. This one lady was like "Oh, you just break open your SIM card and the micro one I inside of it". I was like umm okay that's not gonna happen. So, I googled it and then found this DIY on cnet that instructs you how to make a microSIM card out of your regular SIM card by cutting it. I felt really adventurous and decided to give it a try because if worse came to worse I would just have to pay $25 for a microSIM. So,I watched the video, followed the instructions, and I did it! It was not hard to do at all. Then, I took my freshly cut miroSIM card and put it in the phone. It fit perfectly. I turned the phone on and first it couldn't find my provider but then I selected a different option in the service section in setting and up popped my provider. This phone is amazing and is so fast and fun to use. Definitely worth the money. Love it!

1VERY DISAPPOINTED
By Andrew
Until now, i have just 2 days using it, and have no complaints. The only one was that i couldn't get it on time and i had to pay another $63 to send it to my country. It took a week to get from CA to NY, which I considered was a lot of time, I had a family member in NY that had to bring it to my country, and because of that delay, my cousin left and i had to pay extra fee to send it by other carrier to my country. (I WROTE THIS REVIEW WHEN I HAD JUST 2 DAYS USING THE PHONE)

AFTER 4 DAYS OF USE:

When i decided to buy this phone, i checked all the reviews and the questions made to the seller and i found out, it works in my country because it match with my frequency and GHz. I bought it to use it out of USA, but I had a family that was able to bring it to my country. Due to a problem with the delivery, my cousin could not bring the phone when she returned and because of that, my aunt had to send me the phone by UPS to my country. I was avoiding paying extra fees, but at the end, I had to pay $73.30 dollars of extra fees to have it in my country. Because of that, i received the phone 28 days later than when i made the purchase.
Anyway, I get the phone and i started use it and i was working very well the first 4 days, after that, the phone start to fail, the screen remained paralyzed without making any movement, and none of the functions worked up after a while of being immobile, one of the days, the battery overheat and i had to pull out the battery fast and leave the phone off for around 12 hours.
I contacted the seller telling the situation, thinking that maybe was the battery, the told me how warranty works with Samsung and the gave the steps to follow. The fact that i was out of USA, in Costa Rica, I had to contact Samsung Latin America and the will give me the places in my Country authorized to cover warranties of the Samsung items. The gave me the numbers and i went to the place hoping the will help out with the problem of the cell phone and of course using the warranty, because the phone was New, only 4 days of use. When I went to the place, they told me they were not able to help me due to 2 things: 1- The IMEI of the phone belong to Europe specific FRANCE and in my country the only cover warranties of IMEI's that belong to Latin America, that way the weren't able to cover the warranty, neither can fix the phone if I was willing to pay for it, because they can not even fix item that doesn't belong to Latin America, that way I had no choices to can fix the phone in my country.
When I told the seller what happened, they never tried to help me, they just sent me an e-mail saying they will not cover the warranty and that was it. I had to speak with Amazon customer service to put a complain, and because of that, they tried to be in touch with me again (the seller), but the fact that the phone had more than 30 days since the day of the purchase, they were not able to received the phone back due to the returns policies, even when i explained that I received the phone 28 days later of the purchase and I had just 4 days using it when it started to fail.
TO ALL BUYERS: PLEASE BE AWARE, when buy a phone like this one, ask the seller first the IMEI and double check if that belong to the country you live before to make the purchase, because, i know that most of the buyers think that the sellers have to cover warranties or be responsible for defecting items, but in this case Samsung works different and warranty is based on the IMEI of the phone, and they give support and warranties only if the IMEI belongs with your country. In my case, I received a damage item and now i can't have warranty neither support..... and the seller was not what i expected.. they were not kind, neither polite, very disappointed with the seller.
To all Buyers, before to make an expensive purchase, please make sure you know everything about all this issues that happened to me, that way you will not lose the money. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
