4Pretty good phone
By Chia
I have had this phone for over a month now. I love it, but it isn't perfect. This is my first smart phone. I had a "biscuit" with a shitty camera so I bought this for mostly it's camera and internet abilities (Twitter, Instagram, looking up stuff). I will be a college student this fall and I wanted to take a lot of pictures of my new surrounding, friends, etc. The front camera is basically shit. I'm not pleased with the front camera at ALL. I think my Ipod's front camera is better than it, but the main camera is really amazing. I love it. I noticed that the camera button on the side barely works. sometimes it does, most times it doesn't work.

I initially thought it didn't have an outlet for the sockets used in the US, and I contacted the seller. The customer service was really helpful and patient. They were just wonderful. The charger is really huge (because you have to add an adapter on top of it). I would advice you to get a samsung charger. It does the job. This phone gets really hot sometimes when you charge it (i would say 30% of the time) and the battery life is not so awesome. I carry my phone charger everywhere I go. This is definitely a change from having a phone which I could go a maximum of 3-4 days without charging it WITH constant use. It has went berserk on me once. (I blame my Twitter app for that).

and just FYI, if you are in the USA you have to use this phone on At&t network or T-mobile network! I purchased the Straight Talk sim card plan (the one with AT&T Compatible Phone) and it works amazingly! You pay $45 monthly for UNLIMITED everything!!!! and I mean everything! So if you are a college student or just want to save, I advice you to get Straight Talk! GREAT service everywhere!!

Overall a GREAT phone, nothing is perfect. I immediately purchased a protective case and screen after I purchased the phone. Surfing the internet is really fast. and the screen is amazing. Videos are super clear and sharp. The white Magic really makes a difference. I did not have any problems with the see through stripe. I love the way it fits into my palm. The design is amazing and a lot of my friends are jealous. I love how it's unique and different (unlike how everybody has the Iphone here). The Android system is amazing and from what I read somewhere there, Sony will soon have an update to update this phone to the android Icecream sandwich, the same system the Samsung Galaxy series has.
Nearly everybody is asking where I got my phone from and such. A while back when I asked Straight Talk customer service if my phone would work with it (and when I told the lady from India that I had a sony Xperia P she was like "oooo that's a really good phone") :D

3Good phone, but ..
By Kate
The functionality of this phone is undoubtedly great. The screen is bright and clear, the sounds are very loud too. All the applications work fast, surfing the net has been fast and easy, especially on WiFi. Camera takes good-quality pictures, but make sure the light is good and don't expect professional pictures - it is a phone after all, not a camera.
All in all, I am quite concerned with the see-through stripe at the bottom of the phone. Some users have complained about an air bubble appearing there in 2 weeks or so after using the phone. So, there is one in my phone too, and I am not sure how it will affect the functionality of the buttons on it (return, home and menu buttons). Not much of a deal but a little disappointing.

5Style and Functionality at a reasonable price.
By Derek
My rating is based on the following characteristics: great audio quality, above average camera, and a good screen with acceptable brightness for outdoor viewing. I'm not a big fan of the plasticy textures of the Samsung line, so the aluminum chassis of the P felt good from the start. Feels solid, yet very light. It should last a couple of years without issue. For me, the 4" screen is just right, providing a window into what's relevant to me (Calendar, Gmail, Weather, music track info) with single-handed operation. Any sort of rationale I can conceive to have a larger phone is better served by my 7" tablet. I don't game on my phone much.

Sony's touch on the OS is light and appreciated. Frankly, the size, power, and cost of the current generation's superphones (HTC One, Galaxy S4, et al) is beyond me. All I want is a PHONE that can handle a couple of dozen of priority apps and that provides the above characteristics. Used in this manner, the battery lasts 3-4 days . A big difference on my previous phones (G1, G2), that could lose as much as 10% battery per hour! On the subject of apps, it did include several bloatware that were easily removed via the normal method, root was unnecessary.

The recent JB update with Google Now, and auto G+ backup really completes the package.
