BLU Dash Android Smart phone

I've had this phone for over a month and it is the first smart phone I am using. I am generally satisfied with the phone. It is neat enough to hold in the palm of my hand, yet powerful enough to efficiently utilize data communication and social networking feeds. It is a breeze in a bottle being able to check my emails on the go. Both sims work just fine here in the Caribbean. The downloading of apps has been a joy and beneficial experience. The radio capabilities are also quite good. I am glad for the user manual in English--I mention this because I had seen an earlier review where it was said that there was no user manual and that the phone's default language was NOT English.
Even my colleagues have taken a liking to this android phone and enquired aout getting one as well. A defining moment for me was when I was having the data plan activated and wanted to check my email. The network agent was saying that Black Berry phones usually take an hour to download the emails from their servers. No sooner had she finished that she looked on the phone and she saw all my emails already downloaded. Another agent also was impressed by the phone's ability to record active phone conversations. This smartpphone is a great way to customize one's experience in the world of mobile technology.

A great entry phone if you are on a budget

This is the fourth BLU DASH I have purchased. A great little phone if you are just entering the world of smart phones and don't want to spend a whole lot of money. This phone is loaded with Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has all the functionality you'd expect; GPS, WIFI, decent processing speed, web browsing,etc. HOWEVER, You're stuck (right now) at Android version 2.3. The BLU PRODUCTS web site is poor and only offers owners manuals to download. You can however use "Google Play" to install many applications (apps). There's (as of this review) no way to upgrade Android on this phone. There are also no accessories built specifically for it (ie. covers, protectors, mounts). The phone itself is not very rugged, hence the cheap price. The good side of it is, it's small and can fit in your pocket quite easily, just make sure the display is in standby. A fully charged battery will last about four days on standby. Do not buy the BLUE (color) ones, they are NOT unlocked. The Dual SIM operation is cool if you use this phone over-seas or on two different networks. If you only want to use one SIM, there is no issue. You CAN watch streaming video, listen to you favorite MP3's and it even has a built in FM radio, which is a cool feature as well. It boils down to, a cheap phone that works well, but you have to treat it with TLC.

Good entry-level smartphone

We have had this smartphone for about 1 month. We selected this phone, because it best matched our criteria for a low-cost,unlocked smartphone with recent Android version and wi-fi.
Positives:
-general operation good
-call volume for caller/receiver good
-bluetooth headset function works well
-small size is convenient for carrying phone all day
-wifi works well
Negatives:
-newer version of Android available and don't know if phone will be upgradeable
-no user manual available that we have found in looking online at BLU's website or elsewhere online
Based on our experience to this point, we would purchase again.
